2024 Walk of Remembrance: Honoring the Monterey Bay's Chinese Community

Please join us for the main event, a one mile walk from Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History to Stanford University Hopkins Marine Station, site of the Point Alones Chinese Fishing Village before it was mysteriously burned to the ground In 1906. This act displaced hundreds of Chinese from their homes and livelihoods, as they lost all of their worldly possessions. We will gather in front of the museum for the Monterey Bay Lion Dance Troop performance and remarks from elected officials, then walk 1 mile via the Coastal Recreation Trail to the Chinese fishing village site where Stanford University's Hopkins Marine Station now stands.
